I live and work out of a century old home in Covington, Kentucky with my wife, Emily and our daughters, Delaney and Irah. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in printmaking, from Northern Kentucky University in 1999. I created my first print in my second year of college and was immediately drawn towards the art of the woodcut. I enjoy the meditative process of carving, pulling the image from the block of wood. I also love the printed result of a woodcut print, the bold flat colors or the stark contrast of black on white, the accidental marks, and the line created by taking away rather than making it directly.
I have exhibited my work throughout the country and have been included in several national and international juried exhibitions. My work has been featured at the Fitton Center for Creative Arts in Hamilton, Ohio, the Carnegie Arts Center in Covington, Kentucky, the Artist Vineyard in Noblesville, Indiana, and at the Blue Star Art Complex in San Antonio, Texas. Every year I travel, April thru October, showing my art work nearly every weekend, at different art fairs and festivals throughout the country. My work can also be found in the collection of the Cincinnati Art Museum, as well as many private house holds all across the country. |
